The Samuels Group project at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI, is underway and featured in this quarter’s edition of “Vista,” the Museum’s newsletter for members.
The impetus behind the building addition was BMO Harris Bank’s donation to the Museum of the M&I Bank Collection of Owen Gromme paintings. The article relates how Jim Jasper, Samuels Group architect, helped the Museum address several needs beyond the gallery space required for the Gromme collection. The 8,500-square-foot building addition includes ADA-compliant bathrooms on the main and lower-levels, an elevator to make access easier for all visitors, green design elements and sustainable materials that will help maximize efficiency. The addition is scheduled for a September 2012 opening.
