On June 11, 2007, Mayor Jim Tipple, City Council Member Jim Rosenberg, The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce President Fred Lundin, and The Samuels Group Owner Sid Samuels spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for 311 Financial Way.
The 42,000 square foot, three-story multi-tenant office building will be home to The Samuels Group Corporate Headquarters. The site is located off of 17th Avenue between Bridge Street and Stewart Avenue. The building is registered for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification to become the first privately owned, LEED Certified/"green" building in Wausau.
Sustainable design is the art of designing a building to reduce the negative impacts on the environment while improving the health and comfort of its occupants. Green buildings also offer significant economic and environmental benefits to building owners including, reduction in facility operating costs, improved asset value and many more. The Samuels Group has taken the critical steps necessary to ensure they remain a leader not just in the construction industry, but in the community as well.
